So last night I applied to some jobs and I got something.  I was on craigslist doing the typical job search.  This one job that I applied to had a lot of directions in the job posting.  I followed them and he called me that day.  When looking at these job postings it is important to read the whole thing before just resume blasting every job you see.  The job was for a club/realtor promoter.  Which is perfect for me… right now.  I was able to use my social skills to land the interview.

Went to the cellar bar on 40th between 5th and 6th inside of the Bryant Park Hotel.  The company I am applying for had an all expense paid night there.  Bottle service, a table the works.  There was a fashion show there that night too.  I was able to network with a lot of people and meet some valuable people in the field I am looking to.  I met someone there that was working for the biggest commercial real estate company in all of NYC! awesome right.  Well I didn’t drink too much because I had to impress the people with my social skills and not my drinking skills. haha.  I did well met with all the owners and kicked it off with them really well.  I have an interview on Monday with them now!  Next step is to get the job we’ll see.

So I am living in the Bronx again still looking for jobs.  Now I am applying for admin jobs…. gosh pretty good use of a college education right?…  Also I applied for this job as a personal assistant for a nudist family.  I don’t mind but man what kind of job will I be able to get?  Anyways I cleaned up the basement set up a weight room and at least now I can workout everyday. Woohoo!

Today I am waiting for UPS who will probably never come.  They came once gave me some shipping slips left and who know what that lame company will do.

Also I watched the World Cup draw.  USA has a sweet draw.  Algeria, Slovenia, and England…. We have a chance to get the #1 seed.  Then we face the #2 from D which could be Ghana.  Ghana is a good African team but the USA are so poised to make it to the quarters.  USA has the bracket to make it this year.  USA! USA! USA!

I came here back in October and have yet to make a post on what I have done.  It starts with going to Atlantic City for a bachelor party.  Partying with dancers drinking with the fellas and falling asleep without knowing.  Then on a day to day basis I am always looking for a job.  Going on careerbuilder, monster, indeed, craigslist, jobserve, etc… I came to New York with the hopes of making it here.  I am still struggling living day by day to get a job.  I lived for about 2 months on my friend’s couch in Long Island City.  I lived at the Rockrose apartments.  They were pretty sweet but the manager hated us.  I filled out hundreds if not thousands of applications which led to many resumes sent out.  I have had a couple of interviews but nothing has led to me getting a job.

I am currently living in a house in the Bronx paying 250 a month.  My days are constantly consumed with finding a job, researching new online marketing techniques, learning about the alternative energy sector, and blowing off steam every once in a while.  I have been able to meet some good people here who have taught me some very interesting things about NYC.  I.e how to get into clubs, how to succeed at online dating, the places to go to in NYC, and how to do things for free and still have a good time.  In my situation I have also met some very interesting people.

The friends I have here are some very intelligent people but are in jobs that are unfruitful and don’t utilize their talents.  These guys are very knowledgeable but due to the current state of the economy they are stuck doing jobs that they hate.  I am on the cusp of doing that very same thing.   I might have to bite the bullet and work at starbucks, retail job, or become a waiter.  Now in this economy these jobs are nothing to be ashamed of but with a college education I never dreamed of even considering doing one of those jobs.

Now I am at a turning point in my travels.  I have to make money or else I won’t be able to stay in the greatest city in the world-NYC.  It has so much to offer and I have to make it here or else I will be like everyone else who comes here and leaves with their tail between their legs making excuses for why they are leaving.  If I can’t make it here no I will make it here because my aspirations aren’t limited to what is laid out in front of me. Rather I am shooting for something much greater than the road in front but the stars that go beyond.

But I digress I have yet to tell the stories of Halloween, being lost in New York thinking I was in New Jersey, Cheap Shots, Coyote Ugly, the subway system, the people, Central Park, rubbing the bulls balls for good luck on Wall Street, and many more.

First off Halloween was insane I dressed up as a boy scout and my good friend dressed up as Black Gallagher(from the Chappelle Show) but he was white and didn’t go black face so everyone thought he was just Gallagher.  We went to numerous bars where I tried to get my badges pinned on me and my friend smashed fruit.   I created crazy badges that involved anything from drinking, hugs, kisses, and crazy sexual innuendo sayings on the badges.  Beyond my antics, for my friend I gathered crowds around him so that he could do his comedic sketch which would end in him smashing fruit.  From apples to mangos.

The story of me being lost in New York is rather idiotic for I was in Times Square but due to my intoxicated state I was unsure of where I was.  I went to the subway station but saw subway routes I never saw(q,r,n,w) which led me to believe that I had to be in New Jersey.  I got a little hysterical called my friend at 5 am in NJ and told him I was in NJ, he gets mad for waking him up and tells me to find a street number I tell him 47th and 7th and he laughs and tells me I am in Times Square.  I catch a cab and go home.  Crazy right…. more idiotic.

One of the great things of NYC is that even though this place is crazy expensive there are still some places that are affordable.  That place being Cheap Shots on 1st and 9th.  We got pitchers of beer for 8$…in NYC! We proceeded to get hammered.  After that I thought I could challenge my friend to eating cheeseburgers from MacDonalds.  He ate 10 in 13 minutes.  I was hungry enough but I didn’t prepare myself amply for it.  I ran out of saliva at number 8.  The challenge took me 21 mins to finish.  at 8 I was at 10 mins.  From that day I learned that without the saliva it is extremely hard to eat a nasty, disgusting MacDonald’s Cheeseburger.

While in NYC because I am looking for a J.O.B I had to do something to raise my luck.  There was only one thing that I could think of rubbing the bulls balls in Wall Street.  Now I didn’t want to be one of the lame tourists that do it so I did it at night time where I could be alone with the bull… Well nonetheless I was able to rub them for good luck!

Today 12/02/2009

I went to Coyote Ugly on 1st between 9th and 10th.  This is the original Coyote Ugly. I was able to get the special treatment since it was my first time.  The bartender got on stage and she did her dance called me over and had lean back and pored a huge shot of tequila then pulled my shirt up while scratching me then bent me over took off her belt and smacked the f out of me.  I am pretty sure I am going to have marks tomorrow.  After that it was followed by her putting her legs around me and pretty much sitting on my face, throughout the night she would continue to do this.  Also later she grabbed my shirt and called me to the bar once again and again she bent me over pulled my shirt up and was smacking me.  This was quite the experience.  Kelsey was an awesome bartender.  If I didn’t have to “work” tomorrow aka I didn’t have anymore money to spend it would have been awesome to enjoy the show longer.  Mind you on Tuesday it is cheap to go there.  For Pabst it is 2$ a can a very reasonable price at a bar.  I think I will go again.

Well for now on I will keep updating my site so that people can know what is interesting with my life, what kind of bars/restaurants are good to go to, and if I ever get a job. haha. seriously though I will not give up!  Viva La Revolution!

The 1st game of the world series is over.  Yankees down 1-0.  They lost by a score of 6-1.  The big bats that they had through out their AL series went up in smoke.   Arod looked like the Arod of old.  But more than that Cliff Lee was lights out.  The Mussina curve was on.  He just couldn’t be hit.

In Game 2, which is gonna be Thursday, is pinning Pedro against Burnett.   For A.J. Burnett’s first playoff he hasn’t shown to much.  If he pitched like this when the Marlins went to the World Series they would have lost but luckily he wasn’t.  Now his slate is wiped clean and he can start over with this World Series.  Pedro is an old yet proven pitcher.  He has only pitched one game this postseason but it looked like the Pedro of old.  This will be a true test to see if Pedro can pitch on the grand stand.

The Yankees need the bats to come alive.  It can’t be just one player.  Last night Jeter seemed to always be on base but no one could knock him in.  Tonight, if the Yankees want to win, need to work together and not just as single individuals.

Instead of having a west coast battle it is an east coast battle along I-95.  The world series is going to put the bat heavy Yankees against a strong Phillies team.  The Yankees have yet to score less than 4 runs a game.  The only problem is when the opponent scores more than 4 the Yankees lose.  With the Phillies being a really strong road team it will depend on how strong the home strong Yankees can be.  For the first matchup it will put Cliff Lee against C.C. Sabathia.  Neither pitcher has given up more than one earned run a game in the post season.  There is no clear indicator of who the better pitcher is in post season.

On the Philly side they have beaten both teams by only losing one game.  Every time they won they scored at least 5 runs and the one time they lost the score was 5-4 rockies.  In the Dodgers series it went to 5 games and the only game they lost the score was 2-1.  Every other game was the Phillies scoring again 5 runs.

With the Yankees I feel their overall pitching is better.  Their starting pitcher have only allowed big games twice in the whole playoffs.  One by Burnett where the team allowed 7 runs 6 of which were by Burnett and Pettite.  When Pettite pitched where allowed for 3 runs in 6.1 innings and the team allowed 5 in 10.2 innings which isn’t horrible.  Whereas the Phillies have let teams score at least 4 runs 6 times in the playoffs.

The thing about the Yankees is that they have relied heavily on Arod.  The thing is this year he has delivered however in years past it has been a cluster of Yankees that help the team win.  For the Yankees Arod is leading statistically in every category contrary to the Phillies who have a different batter leading in every category.  On the Phllies team after Ryan Howard there are 2 guys right behind him with 10 and 9 rbis. On the Yankees after Arod the next most rbis is 5.  Now that could be because Arod just hits everyone in but really the problem is that nobody is hitting big this postseason for the Yanks.

If the Yanks want to win the world series it is going to take more than just Arod.  Teixera who is hitting .205 is going to have to come up big.   While the Yankees are hitting as a team .262, .001 better than the Phillies but the Phillies have 4 guys that are hitting over .300 and they are including pitchers as hitters.  However the oba of the yankees is a .359 compared to .363 of the Phillies.  These two teams are very close but with the pitchers being slightly better for the Yankees I am going to favor them.

With the NLCS coming to a close and the dodgers losing the I-5 series isn’t going to happen.  As awesome as it could have been it won’t happen this year.  The dodgers worked the count better but the phillies were the ones that scored.  Jason Werth delivered some crucial hits this series.  Getting 3 home runs but when he isn’t hitting homeruns he is back in the dugout.  Ryan Howard had an rbi in every game except the last one proving to be a strong force in the philly stronghold.  But a player I would like to bring up as possibly the mvp of the nlcs is Shane Victorino.  With a .368 Ba for the team and getting multi hit games in 3 of the 5 games he was a batter. It’s hard to say the pitching was good when in only 2 games you could say that the pitchers pitched well games 2 and 3 besides those games they gave up at least 4 runs.  Ultimately it came down to how well the hitters could hit and not the pitchers pitch.

Secondly why it will probably be an I-95 series is because the Yankees are 3-1 and with A-rod hitting as many homeruns this post season as in all his post seasons combined the Yankees best hitter is finally hitting how a 33 million player should hit. This post season Arod is hitting .407 with an rbi and a hit in every game.  Paired with 5 home runs he is unstoppable.  Arod has as many hits as rbis also.  With him in their lineup it is hard to see the Yankees losing 3 more games.
This postseason the Yankees haven’t scored less than 4 runs a game, and teams have only scored more than 4 runs against the Yankees once and that is the only time a team has beat them.  The pitching is stellar and the hitting is just as good.  If the Angels wish to beat the Yankees the hitters are going to have to score more than 4 and the pitching is going to have to stop A-rod.

The Yankees really proved something so far this series and that is clutch hitting.  The one thing that worries me is that the Yankees had two very close games at home.  Yankee stadium is a very tough stadium to play in.  Now that the Yankees are going to Angels stadium the rally monkeys are coming out.  The Yankees are 2-0 now and going away.  Unless their clutch hitting continues away then they will be coming back to NY 2-3.

I really like the NY Giants vs SD Chargers and the Seahawks vs Cardinals games.  Obviously the San Diego New York game is the big game.  High powered offense and defense is going to be exciting. I am going to pick the Chargers over the Giants this week.  The Chargers can score at will.  If their passing game is working then their running game is going to attack.  In addition the Chargers D can pick up the slack.  True Steve Smith of the Giants is amazing and the rest of the squad can put up numbers but there best part of their game is their defense.  Bradshaw is the best backup in the game.  He runs half as much as Jacobs and has more yardage.  I wouldn’t give up Jacobs for Bradshaw because it’s hard to find a linebacker with RB skills like Jacobs but it doesn’t hurt to have a sneaky runner like Bradshaw to back you up.  With the only injured Dman being Tuck who isn’t really injured there Defense is looking quite nice.  Manning is “hurt” but he’ll play Sunday and do fine.  Bradshaw might be the problem as he hasn’t practiced. But with the Saints they are playing at home.  But Pierre Thomas being hurt again will require Bell to pick up the slack.  Unless Bush can pick up his game this week it’s going to put a lot of pressure on Bell.  Also with no big injuries they should be putting up a win against the Gmen.

Seattle vs Arizona is going to be a struggle.  Two teams that went up against the Steelers in the championship and lost are going to battle it out for supremacy.  On Arizona’s side there are too many injuries to sustain an offense and defense that put up points against JAX.  The biggest problem for Arizona is that Seattle is playing at home and Hasselbeck is “healthy”.  But with Kerney and Burleson both Questionable it is going to pose huge problems for Seattle.  I do feel that because Seattle is playing at home where they have done well they should pull out the W.  Considering Qwest field is one of the hardest if not the hardest field to play at will pose another problem for the Cards.

Saints and Hawks should win this week.

The big game is today.  Kershaw vs Hamels to start the series off.  It is going to be a crazy one too.  In the end of the series which will be in 5.  The dodgers will win.  The dodgers bullpen is just too crazy.   I know the bats of the phillies are amazing.  But good pitching always begets good hitting.   I am calling it the world series is going to be the battle for I-5.  Dodgers and Angels.  Kershaw is hot, Padilla is hot and even though Padilla is weak against lefties which the Phillies have plenty of Padilla is too hot.

I think it would be a good story if it was an all LA battle similar to the all NYC battle between the Yankees and Mets.  It is feel good to see the Yankees back but I don’t want to see them in the finals.  I want the Angels and Dodgers.  I want to see Manny do it with a different team.  Also at the same time it doesn’t matter what I want because these two teams are also the best teams.  The Yankees hitters won’t be able to contain the arms of the Angels because they are just too good.  Furthermore the Arms of the Yankees aren’t good enough to last.  Arod had some fluke hits during the Twins series and those hits will not last.  He is AFraud the best regular season hitter but come post season he struggles hitting 240.

Question me on that.

I just want to be the first one to apologize to Cedric.  It is true I drafted him having the faith he would do well but only as a backup when my rbs had a bye but now he is putting numbers up that are making me bench Clinton Portis. Cedric Benson just played the Ravens and ran for 120 and a td.  That was 18 points! Portis had a good game too.  But I am reconsidering no matter the opponent Benson will be putting up the points.  He is that good.  I drafted him in the later rounds and now I am reeping the benefits.

I would also like to mention that Beanie Wells doesn’t deserve the PT he is getting because Tim Hightower is putting up the numbers.  He can catch and run.  I said this from the beginning that Hightower is going to be putting up the points and not Wells.  To date I am right but now I am finding out that they are going to start giving more touches to Wells and less to Hightower which will not bode well for my 12th round pick. 

With the later rounds it is important to know your options and pick up backs who can help when you don’t have other options because they could just creep up into your starting lineup like both Benson and Hightower.  However Hightower is only useful in points per reception leagues otherwise he isn’t going to be of much help.
